Nurturing Birth Experiences
At Oasis Family Birthing Center (OFBC), we are dedicated to creating a safe and empowering environment for your birth. Our focus is on individualized care, where your choices and needs are at the heart of everything we do.
The journey into parenthood should be met with empowerment, not fear. Oasis Family Birthing Center offers a safe, respectful space where evidence-based care meets deeply personal support. Services are thoughtfully crafted to reduce health disparities and foster trust in the birthing process. It’s more than a facility—it’s a movement to restore birth as a sacred and supported experience.
Our birth center is for low-risk birthing people. Our comprehensive risk stratification process begins with an evaluation of your medical history. Once your history has been reviewed, you will have an opportunity to tour the facility and schedule a meeting with your midwife. The midwife will review the expectations we have for those who plan to utilize the facility. Our shared decision model also means shared responsibility and it is important that you understand the risks and benefits of out of hospital birth.
Midwifery, as defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) encompasses care given to a woman during pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period, as well as the care provided for the newborn. The midwifery model of care emphasizes: -Monitoring the physical, psychological, and social well-being of the mother throughout the childbearing cycle -Providing the mother with individualized education, counseling, prenatal care, continuous hands-on assistance during labor and delivery, and postpartum support -Minimizing technological interventions -Identifying and referring women who require obstetrical attention The application of this woman-centered model of care has been proven to reduce the incidence of birth injury, trauma, and cesarean section.

The CPM credential is the only midwifery credential that requires the holder to demonstrate knowledge and have experience in providing midwifery services in out-of-hospital settings. Most CPMs work in their clients’ homes and in private birthing centers, providing care to women throughout their childbearing cycle as well as newborns up to 6 weeks old. Certified nurse-midwives are advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) backed by the American College of Nurse-Midwives. CNMs are well qualified to provide care to women not just during the childbearing years, but also across their lifespan. They provide regular well-woman visits, gynecologic checkups, contraceptive and family planning services, and treatment of STDs, among other services. CNMs are also qualified to provide neonatal care during the first 28 days of life. At Oasis Family Birthing Center, we will have certified professional midwives and certified nurse midwives working collaboratively with obstetricians/gynecologists as well as doulas, lactation consultants, and other birth-workers to provide comprehensive, culturally competent, and patient-centered maternity care.
